The recruiting calendar

Top banks hire interns more than a year before the internship starts

Students who learn this late spend sophomore fall catching up. By the time applications open, the resume, networking and technicals need to be done.

  1. High school

Learn how banking works and build a resume worth reading before college.

  2. Freshman year

Early insight programs open to freshmen. They’re often the first finance line on a resume, and the first banker conversations start here.

  3. Sophomore fall

Many banks recruit for the junior-summer internship now. Networking, resume and technicals have to be ready before applications open.

    Internship recruiting happens here
  4. Junior summer

The internship itself. Full-time return offers come out of it.

Your application tells us where you are on this calendar. The strategy session maps your plan from there, whether you’re starting early or catching up.

What the course covers

Everything a bank tests you on, and everything that gets you in the room

A study guide covers the technicals. Banks also judge your resume, who vouches for you and how you answer in the interview, so the course covers all of it.

  • Technicals

Accounting, valuation, M&A, LBOs, modeling and interview questions, taught for real understanding in 20 to 30 hours. You get clear explanations, flashcards, quizzes and a database of real interview questions from every top bank.

Self-paced lessons, plus direct access to coaches

  • Resume and LinkedIn

Bankers spend 10 to 30 seconds on a resume. Yours gets rebuilt with templates proven across 2,500+ students, with unlimited revisions from a coach. No relevant experience yet? We cover internship pathways and positioning.

    Templates and one-on-one revisions

  • Networking

Find bankers beyond your alumni list, write messages that get replies, and turn conversations into referrals. Students regularly talk to 80 to 100+ bankers and secure 20+ referral commitments.

Scripts, outreach strategy and coach feedback

  • Behavioral interviews

Work one-on-one with someone who used to run hiring at a top investment bank. They pull the right stories from your background and structure your answers, then you practice in private mock interviews and weekly group sessions.

One-on-one coaching, mocks and group sessions

  • Recruiting coaching

At least four dedicated coaches: a strategic lead with hundreds of placements, an active banker, a former global head of recruiting from firms like J.P. Morgan or Credit Suisse, and a recent grad who just went through the latest cycle. Reach them anytime in your private channel.

Live office hours seven days a week, no credit system

  • The network

More than 2,500 members share interview questions, referral contacts, job leads and recruiting timelines in real time. When one student learns what a bank is asking on HireVue, everyone knows by the end of the day.

Learn how markets work

Bloomberg Market Concepts, Yale’s Financial Markets and similar courses are a good introduction. None of them reviews your resume, connects you with bankers or runs mock interviews.

Self-paced IB courses

Learn the technicals

Most modeling and technical courses teach the material banks test. You still run networking, applications and interviews on your own.

Questions

What students and parents ask first

Is this a self-paced course or live coaching?

Both. The technical training is self-paced, with flashcards, quizzes and a database of real interview questions. Around it you get dedicated coaches, one-on-one sessions, mock interviews and live office hours seven days a week.

When should I start?

Earlier is better. At many banks, recruiting for the junior-summer internship runs in the fall of sophomore year, so the groundwork happens freshman year or before. Students have also joined late with weak profiles and still landed at firms like J.P. Morgan. The window gets smaller, but it doesn’t close.

Do I need a finance background?

No. The technical training starts with accounting and builds up to valuation, M&A and LBOs, and the coaching works from wherever your resume is today. Students from non-target schools and career changers go through the same program.

What does it cost?

It depends on your timeline and goals, and we walk through the options on your strategy session. Financial aid is available for students who qualify.

What happens after I apply?

You answer a few questions about your school, year and goals. If you qualify, you pick a time that works for you. On the strategy session we look at where you are on the recruiting calendar and lay out your plan.
