Who is Sam Shiah?
Hi, Sam Shiah here. I’m the founder and head coach at Wall Street Mastermind.
- In 2008, I started my career in the technology investment banking group at Deutsche Bank, and then later at Morgan Stanley (MS Tech is one of the top groups on Wall Street)
- After Morgan Stanley, I worked as a private equity investor at GI Partners, a PE firm which has raised over $20 billion in capital to date
- During my time on Wall Street, I helped close 14 deals worth $9 billion in transaction value. More importantly, I also helped out with the campus recruiting process, which gave me an inside look at what these elite Wall Street institutions look for in their junior hires
- After Wall Street, I ran strategic finance functions at some of the top venture-backed tech startups like Square (2015 IPO), GitHub (acquired by Microsoft in 2018) and Enjoy Technology (2021 IPO)
