I’m Max Adams, the Head Coach of Wall Street Mastermind. I started my career at Lazard, then moved to Qatalyst’s elite technology investment banking team. After, I transitioned to private equity at Vector Capital. All told, I worked on over $75 billion of deals at these firms.
This success led me to Stanford’s MBA program and Harvard’s MPA program. My dual degrees there, combined with a background in tech banking and investing, unlocked a career trajectory I never imagined.
Growing up in a middle class family, there were years when we struggled financially.

Do I have to go to a target school to succeed?
Not at all. We’ve helped students from over 100 different schools, both target and non-target. In fact, only about 45% of our students come from target schools. It doesn’t matter where you’re starting from, you can break into investment banking, too.
What if my GPA isn't perfect?
Great question. Just like the school you attend, a high GPA helps, but it’s definitely not mandatory. Most of our students don’t have perfect GPAs. We’ve even helped students with GPAs as low as 3.0 successfully land IB job offers.
Isn't all this information already online for free?
We’ll be honest, you absolutely can try to break into IB on your own using free resources. But speaking from experience, when doing it alone, your odds of success are realistically 1 in 10 (or even lower). The real question is, are you comfortable leaving your career—and your future—up to chance or faith?
How quickly can I expect results?
